Throughout this year i have had the chance to experience many differnet aspects of visual communication. That is exactly what i wanted from this fisrt year so i am quite pleased with how things have gone.

I thought that i was begginning to narrow dowm my options and focus on advertising but since i have learnt so much more about it i realised im not quite ready to sell my soul to a big company.

I think i just need to look at whats on my blog and the things that interest me outside of college, then i'll figure out how i can make a living out of something that makes me happy.

These are a few books that i have been reading lately. The herion diaries by nikki sixx is probably my favourite one at the moment.

This is work from my final project this year. I wanted to get a better understanding of advertising and develop my skills as a creative advertiser.

I realised that it takes a lot of hard work to become a creative advertiser and it the type of job you have to be sure you want to do becuase it's so much effort to get it. I learnt more on this last project than i have on any other and even though it's not been the most enjoyable or fun project it has definatly given me a sense of achievement.

This is my final piece for the first real advertising brief i did. I really enjoyed this project and i decided that i wanted to pursue it further and learn more about the advertising industry and what my role would be within it.

These are a couple more cd covers that I think are visually effective. I want to spend some time devloping my ideas for my album cover because it is probably the best thing that has happened in my life so far. I want to get it right, but even if i mess up somewhere along the line i'l pick myself up and carry on becuase thats utimatley what i want to do with the rest of my life. Make music.

Visual communication is something that i do enjoy but i'm here to get myself security. I'm here to get myself in a situation where i'm qualified to work in a job i love if my music career doesn't go to plan. Now i just need to figure out what job I would love other than being a rockstar :)

I've been looking at some cd covers that I like to inspire my designs for my album. These are just a few examples of what i've been looking at.

I've decided that i like black and grey tattoos rather than colour. I dont like the way colour tattoos look after a few years and i know that my tattoos will be with me forever. Thats something i quite like about tattoos, they're on you forever. Some people regret there tattoo's but i think if you made the desicion that you did it for a reason. You chose to get it done and that's what makes you you. My tattoos are going to cover both my arms so there is no hiding them, thats the way i like it.

I'm still trying to figure out what tattoos i'm going to get. I'm not sure what it is about tattoos that i like so much. It's probably because the people that inspire me to be who i am are mainly covered in tattoos.

These are images from the first animation I made. Animation was another thing that i was very eager to learn and experiment with. It was good to get the chance to build a website and work with different design sofware to create the content for it. It was something completely new to me but I really enjoyed the project and I feel as though I devloped my existing skills and learnt some new ones.

These are shots of the website I created. This website was one of the things that has stuck out for me this year. I came onto this course to devlop technical skills and experiment with different design processes. Web design was one thing that I really wanted to experience and I feel like I have achieved something to be proud of by creating this website.

These are a few oil paintings by Salvador Dali. Before i started this course i was really into creating my own surrealist oil paintings using Dali as one of my biggest inluences. I don't know what it is about his work that i love so much. I think it's just the way that his images seem so crazy and surreal but at the same time they're organised and they make sense. I feel like that kind of relates to me in the way that i act and live my life.

My band has just been given our first record deal. At the moment we are in the studio recording the album. I have been working on the albun cover and artwork whilst writing songa and recording them in the studio so im a busy guy :)

The album is due for release in aug/sept 2008

I have always been interested in tattoos and the way they look. I do plan to get full sleeves covering both my arms and i have been researching using the internet, books and magazines to figure out what kind of images i want on my skin.
